Do you ever feel…
Like nothing is going right?
Like no matter what you do, what you say, things just don’t go as planned?
Like everywhere you turn, things are destroyed?
Like you can’t focus?
Like the walls are closing in around you?
Like you just want to scream & it would make it better?
My guess is that right now you are nodding your head yes because you are HUMAN & it happens.
But here’s the beautiful thing about those frustrating times.
We have the power to change our minds at any given moment & to focus on the beautiful.
Today, I want to encourage you to focus on the beautiful FIRST.
Give yourself permission to be human… feel those feelings, but then DECIDE to change your mind.
I’ll be real with you… yesterday I was having quite the time focusing on my work, my to-do’s and even my self care routine. I wasn’t feeling inspired to do anything. I pouted on the drive to CrossFit because I wasn’t feeling it either.
It was just one of those days… but the thing is, I got dressed and got up. I DECIDED that I was going to push hard in my workout and make the best of the rest of the day/evening. And I did.
But here’s the catch. I ended up straining my lower back. Probably because I should’ve listened to that internal voice that said REST. Just BE. Lesson learned.
Sometimes we have to push through… and then sometimes, we need to rest.
Simply breathe in life & rest.
So what I’m doing today…
I’m caring for it. I’m resting. I’m soaking in Epsom salts, burning my palo santo because it makes me happy & I’m sitting comfortably, building the content for my next course… which, ironically, is all about SOUL CARE (<<< click for details!)
What I have found is that when we are pushing too hard, it’s our higher self and higher power trying to tell us to SLOW DOWN.
That it’s okay to slow down.
That it’s okay to not have it all together.
That we need to stop what we’re doing & just be. Breathe. Meditate. Pray. Journal it out. Move your body (just don’t push too hard if you’re not in the mood, or you might end up like I am today ;))
Today’s affirmation: (say it out loud as often as necessary)
I am human & I get to choose again. I rest when I need to rest & give myself permission to just be.
